Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) invites proposals from artists (individual or teams) to design, fabricate, and install artwork for the new Don Animas Memorial Skate Park in E. B Rains Jr. Memorial Park in Northglenn to be built in summer 2011. Designed by nationally-known skate park designers, Team Pain, the Skate Park will include approximately 15,000 square-foot of concrete surface with skating bowls and numerous other skating features. The specific area to be designed is the “clamshell” portion of the new skate park. The panels will be attached to the fence surrounding the Civic Square construction site between Third and Fourth avenues and Cherry and James streets in downtown Seattle. These panels may remain in place for approximately one year and will be added to the 20 panels now on the site. The panels are intended to celebrate Seattle’s vibrancy, cultural life, history and position in the forefront of environmental sustainability. The artist’s design is not limited to images alone, but may include three dimensional elements such as glass, metal, wood or a reredos of some kind.
